How to use the Foundations AI Coach

A five-minute guide to getting real value out of the Coach without slipping into things it isn't built for.

The Coach is education only. It does not diagnose, prescribe, dose, or assess symptoms. It won't replace your surgeon, dietitian, family doctor, or GLP-1 prescriber. If something is urgent or clinical, contact your care team. In an emergency, call 911.

What the Coach is

The Foundations AI Coach is an educational assistant trained on the full PureBariatric Foundations course (63 lessons across 8 phases). It helps you:

How to sign in

  1. Go to coach.purebariatric.com.
  2. Click Access Foundation Coach.
  3. Enter the same email you used at checkout.
  4. Start chatting — no separate password.

Access syncs within about 60 seconds of purchase. Your email is stored only in your browser tab; sign out clears it.

Prompts that work well

The Coach is at its best when you ask specific, education-shaped questions. Here are examples that consistently return useful answers:

Finding your way around

Which Foundations lesson covers dumping syndrome after gastric bypass?
Where in the course does it talk about protein targets during the first year?
I'm four months post-op. Which module should I be watching next?

Understanding a concept

Can you explain the difference between sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y in plain language?
What does "food noise" mean and why does the course cover it?
Walk me through why protein matters more after bariatric surgery than before.

Prepping a care-team visit

I have a follow-up with my surgeon next week. What are good questions to ask about my six-month check-in?
Help me draft questions for my GLP-1 prescriber about a stall.
I want to talk to my dietitian about regain. What should I bring up?

Making sense of what you learned

Summarize the red flags the course says to watch for in the first two weeks.
What are the main long-term deficiencies bariatric patients need to watch for, and why?
Rephrase Module 6 Lesson 3 in a way I can share with my partner.

Prompts the Coach will refuse — by design

Bariatric surgery is a regulated medical space. The Coach is trained to hard-refuse anything that crosses into individualized medical advice. If you ask, you'll get a redirect to your care team rather than an answer. Examples of things it will not do:

This isn't the Coach being unhelpful — it's the Coach staying inside its scope so you don't get an answer that sounds authoritative but is actually unsafe. For any of the above, contact your surgical team, prescribing clinician, family doctor, or emergency services.

Tips to get better answers

Troubleshooting

"This email is not entitled to Foundation Coach"

Use the exact email you used at Stripe checkout (or at Whop, if you bought before we migrated). If that address is a typo or an old one, email support@purebariatric.com from the correct address and we'll update your record.

"I paid but I still get locked out"

Access syncs from Stripe within about 60 seconds. If it's been longer, refresh and try again. If it still fails, email support@purebariatric.com with the Stripe receipt attached.

"The Coach's answer feels off"

AI responses can occasionally be wrong or incomplete. Cross-check any factual claim against the video lessons themselves, and never act on anything Coach-generated without running it past your care team. If a specific answer looks flat-out wrong, screenshot it and send to support@purebariatric.com — the Coach is retrained regularly on real user questions.

The rule of thumb

The Coach is a study partner and a course guide. It's built to make Foundations easier to absorb and to help you show up prepared for your appointments — not to be your appointment. Use it that way and it will earn its keep.
