How to use the Foundations AI Coach
A five-minute guide to getting real value out of the Coach without slipping into things it isn't built for.
What the Coach is
The Foundations AI Coach is an educational assistant trained on the full PureBariatric Foundations course (63 lessons across 8 phases). It helps you:
- Find the right lesson when you can't remember where a topic lives
- Rephrase course content in plain language when the video felt dense
- Draft questions to bring to your next appointment
- Compare the five bariatric procedures at a high level (LSG, RYGB, SADI-S, LAGB, BPD-DS)
- Understand general concepts around GLP-1 medications, dumping syndrome, protein targets, hydration, red flags, and long-term maintenance
How to sign in
- Go to coach.purebariatric.com.
- Click Access Foundation Coach.
- Enter the same email you used at checkout.
- Start chatting — no separate password.
Access syncs within about 60 seconds of purchase. Your email is stored only in your browser tab; sign out clears it.
Prompts that work well
The Coach is at its best when you ask specific, education-shaped questions. Here are examples that consistently return useful answers:
Finding your way around
Understanding a concept
Prepping a care-team visit
Making sense of what you learned
Prompts the Coach will refuse — by design
Bariatric surgery is a regulated medical space. The Coach is trained to hard-refuse anything that crosses into individualized medical advice. If you ask, you'll get a redirect to your care team rather than an answer. Examples of things it will not do:
- Diagnose your symptoms ("Do I have a leak?", "Is this a stricture?")
- Give a personalized medication or dose recommendation ("Should I increase my Ozempic?", "Can I take ibuprofen?")
- Tell you which surgery you should have
- Interpret your lab work
- Provide urgent triage of pain, bleeding, vomiting, dehydration, or mental-health emergencies
- Predict your weight-loss outcome
Tips to get better answers
- Say where you are in the journey. "I'm 3 weeks post-op sleeve" or "I'm considering RYGB" gives the Coach useful context.
- Ask for a lesson pointer. "Which lesson covers X?" is faster than trying to describe the topic.
- Ask for plain-language rewrites. If a lesson was hard to follow, paste in a phrase and say "explain this like I'm not a nurse."
- Ask it to draft, not decide. "Draft me questions" beats "tell me what to do."
- Start a new session for a new topic. Long conversations can drift; a fresh sign-out and sign-in gives you a clean slate.
Troubleshooting
"This email is not entitled to Foundation Coach"
Use the exact email you used at Stripe checkout (or at Whop, if you bought before we migrated). If that address is a typo or an old one, email support@purebariatric.com from the correct address and we'll update your record.
"I paid but I still get locked out"
Access syncs from Stripe within about 60 seconds. If it's been longer, refresh and try again. If it still fails, email support@purebariatric.com with the Stripe receipt attached.
"The Coach's answer feels off"
AI responses can occasionally be wrong or incomplete. Cross-check any factual claim against the video lessons themselves, and never act on anything Coach-generated without running it past your care team. If a specific answer looks flat-out wrong, screenshot it and send to support@purebariatric.com — the Coach is retrained regularly on real user questions.
The rule of thumb
The Coach is a study partner and a course guide. It's built to make Foundations easier to absorb and to help you show up prepared for your appointments — not to be your appointment. Use it that way and it will earn its keep.
